335 - Product and Process

Day 355. One thing I've learned from +Cathy Hunt is that iPad art gets more interesting when you pass it through more and more processes. This photograph of a waterlilly was passed through Oil Painting, Distressed FX, the kaleidoscope tool in MegaPhoto and finally Waterlogue to give this somewhat abstracted finished result.
The other thing I've learned is that the iPad screen capture feature (holding down the power and home button together) can be a great tool for documenting the process. Just capture the screen in Camera Roll then crop down to the relevant thumbnails to show the evolution of an idea.

334 - Street Art

Day 334. This image was originally taken as a photograph of a piece of street art. It was processed through a few iPad apps to create this finished result. Duchamp once observed that art could be about how you applied extra layers of visual ideas to existing artwork, so even though this artwork is based on someone else's existing artwork, I think it's still valid as a creative act.

331 - Dog Tired

Day 331. Our golden retriever Buzz loves to lay around the house sleeping on the cool floor on these hot days. Here he is in all his watercolour glory, thanks to the Waterlogue app.

285 - The Things We Do

Day 285. Today's create is an image made from a very cool photo of my buddy Adrian Greig, a teacher from Queensland. He got dressed up in this silliness on the request of his students, who described a "getting dressed" procedure that he dutifully followed. The things we do as teachers to make our kids happy eh?  I removed the background from the original image using Photoshop Mix (great for this kind of thing) then tweaked it a little in Photoshop Touch, then passed it through the Waterlogue app to give it this interesting watercolour look.

278 - Lonely Ride Home

Day 278. This faux watercolour image was made on the train home tonight. I took the photo on my iPad and processed it using the Waterlogue app.

070 - Water Balloons

Day 70. I was in Canberra on the weekend to photograph the hot air balloon festival, and I just uploaded a bunch of my photos to Google+. While on G+ I noticed a couple of posts from Andy Inhatko about an iPad app he was very enthusiastic about called Waterlogue. It turns your photos into surprisingly realistic and good looking water colour paintings.

I have a few further ideas about how I might use this app. Meanwhile here's a few samples of what it can do for today's daily create.
